ARNE ARNESON HOPE was born at Hope (Indre).
KAREN MAGNESDTR SKJEGGEDAL was born at Skjeggedal. She was the eldest in her family, her next sister marrying Arne's brother Kristen (see 65).
Arne took over his father's farm in 1790.
MARTA OLDSDTR VAGSET was born at Vagset.
KARI married (1818) Kristen Kristenson Sandnes and went to live at Sandneset. They had 3 children; Kari (b 1820 d 1828); Kristen (b 1824) who took over the farm in due course, married Brita Ivarsdtr Lauvais, and died 5 Dec 1854 (Brita married again - see 18); and Arne (b 1828) who lived at Sandnes without marrying and died 5 Dec 1854.
SYGNI married (1823) Jetmund Jonson Haugsvaer (for continuation see 37).
KRISTEN married (1818) Brita Larsdtr Fosse (b 1787) and took a share in her father's farm at Fossen, together with her brother Knut. Knut later married and went to Solheim and from 1836 Kristen was in sole charge of the farm. He and Brita had 7 children. Brita died on 16 July 1872.
