JON OLSON HAUGSVAER was born at Haugsvaer.
MARTHA OLSDTR FJELLSENDE came from Lindaas. Her antecedents
have not been traced.
On his elder brother's death in 1789, Jon took over the farm
which their father had run before them. (Jon may already have had a
share in the farm).
Jon may have died around 1836 when his son Jetmund took over
the farm.
MARTA married (1809) Anders Erikson Hosteland, the son of her
father's brother Erik (see 74). They lived at Hosteland and had 4
children.
OLA (senior) married (1816) Anna Rasmusdtr Steine (b 1796) from
Gulen. They had 8 children. In 1836 he took over what appears to have
been a new farm formed from part of his father's farm - probably
formalising an arrangement that had been in existence for some time.
Anna died in 1850.
JETMUND married (1823) Sygni Arnesdtr Hope (see 36) 4 years
after his sister Sygni had married his wife's brother Arne. They had 5
children, the first 4 of which, all boys called Jon, died within their
first year. After Sygni died, Jetmund married (1839) Marta Eriksdtr
Totland (b 1894) and they had 5 children. When Jetmund died his eldest
surviving son Jon was only 7 years old, and the farm seems to have been
temporarily run by Rasmus, son of Jetmund's brother Ola (senior), until
Jon was old enough to take over.
KARI remained unmarried.
OLE (junior) married (1835) Randi Olsdtr Vagset (see 73). They
had 6 children. In 1839 Ola took over a new farm formed from parts of
those of his brothers Ola (senior) and Jetmund plus two other farms.
Randi died 20 July 1876.
DORDI married (1831) Hogne Olson Vagset (b 1798) 4 years before
her brother Ola married Hogne's younger sister, and went to live at
Vagset. Hogne died in 1835 and she then married Ola Sjurson Andvik. She
had no children by either marriage.
RASMUS married (1 Jul 1848) Brita Rasmusdtr (b 1820) from a
neighbouring farm in Haugsvaer. They had 4 children. Rasmus appears to
have taken over, or shared in, his brother Ola (senior)'s farm in 1846.
