On 18 Jun 1760 he was appointed Commander of the Hardanger Company of the 2nd Bergenhus Infantry Regiment.

He was retired with a pension (120 riksdalers p a) in 1765, but 4 years later (1 May 1769) was reinstated in the 2nd Bergenhus Regiment as Commander for Nordhordaland. In 1770 he bought a farm at Sundsbo in Lindaas, and he owned Torsvik and Hosteland in Masfjord. He  had a post for military exercises at Hosteland. He finally retired from the army on 30 Jan 1789 in the rank of Major and with a pension of 200 riksdalers.

KAREN MARIE TUCHSEN was born at Sande in Ytre (Outer) Sogne.

Hans and Karen had 16 children. When Karen died she had living 8 children, 34 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

JOHAN CHRISTIAN was baptised in Bergen. He joined the 2nd Bergenhus Infantry Regiment and studied at the Mathematics School in Kristiansand from 13 Jun 1770 to 14 Apr 1773. On 4 Mar 1773 he was appointed to the Sondhordland Company. He was made a 1st Lieutenant on 11 Jan 1776 but died only 4 years later.

JOHAN FRIEDRICH WEINMANN was baptised in Bergen. He joined the army around 1769 (at the age of 13 or 14), and like his elder brother studied at the Mathematics School from 27 Oct 1773. He became an underofficer in the Kings Regiment at Copenhagen until 27 Oct 1779 and then joined the 2nd Bergenhus Infantry Regiment. On 21 Jun 1780 he was appointed to the Nordhordland Company. On 1 Apr 1786 he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant. In 1789 the Bergenhus Regiment was reorganised and on 29 May that year he was appointed to the Urland Company. On 24 Oct 1794 he was promoted Captain and made Commander of Nordfjord Company. He was also made a Staff Captain in 1794-5. On 6 Jan 1797 he was appointed Commander of Nordhordland Company.  He received permission in June 1784 to marry Karen Cecilia Wiggers. They had at least one son, Hans Andreas (b 4 Jul 1790 at Vinje).

CHRISTIAN joined the army on 1 Jan 1782. On 28 Apr 1784 he was made a 2nd Lieutenant in the Bergen Company, and on 22 Aug 1788 was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in the 1st Bergenhus Infantry Regiment. In the 1789 reorganisation he was appointed (29 May) to the Nordhordland Company. (He appears to have fought in the 1788/89 war - against Sweden?). On 7 Aug 1801 he was promoted Captain and Commander of Lyster Company. On 27 Jun 1809 he left the army on grounds of physical weakness with a pension of 180 Riksdalers.

He married (28 Dec 1795) Birgitte Munthe Daae (see 66), the sister of his own sister's husband Gerhard (see 33). They had 14 children of which 10 died early. (One daughter, Sophia, married twice, her second husband being Johan Christoffer Riisnaes - see 16).

Christian appears to have farmed at Torsvik, and died there, the farm being subsequently run by his only surviving son Hans Andreas.
